Meaning & Enoughness
What "enough" actually means, and what you're really trading for it.
5 cards
- 1Enough"Enough" has to be defined on purpose, or it never arrives; left undefined, the feeling tends to reset to match whatever you already have, so having more doesn't reliably make anyone feel like they have enough.
- 2Ambition & SuccessAmbition and satisfaction aren't the same axis; it's possible to keep succeeding by every external measure and still not feel successful, because the goalposts moved every time one was reached.
- 3Sacrifice & Trade-offsEvery serious financial goal is being paid for by something specific, right now, whether or not that something is ever named out loud.
- 4Purpose in SpendingWhat someone says matters most and what their bank statement says matters most are often two different lists; and the second list is the more honest one.
- 5Legacy & End-of-Life PlanningMoney left behind with no plan says something by accident, disputes, confusion, unequal treatment nobody intended, while money left behind with a real plan says exactly what the person meant, on purpose.
