Seasons of Life

Same advice.Different decade.

At 25
At 58
Aggressive equity can be reasonable
The same can be genuinely risky

The right financial move depends heavily on which decade of a life it's being made in; the same advice can be exactly right at one age and exactly wrong a decade later.

In Practice

Aggressive equity exposure with no cushion is a reasonable season at 25 with decades to recover from a bad year, and a genuinely risky one at 58, five years from needing that money to actually live on.

Generic Example

Training through minor pain makes sense for an athlete building a career, and stops making sense entirely once the goal shifts to just staying mobile decades later.

Ask yourself

Does my financial plan actually know what decade of my life I'm in right now; or is it running last decade's advice?
